In all of this discussion about Batman and Superman over the last few days, I think we’ve lost sight of something important. Comics should be fun. If you’re into comics at all, chances are you have a favorite character. Everyone has his or her of reasons for liking a character: the costume, the backstory, the personality, the ideals that the character represents, etc. We can dispute which fictional character is stronger or faster or smarter, but there’s one thing that we can’t dispute. Both Batman and Superman got their butts handed to them by Lady Liberty.
No, I don’t mean the member of the Force of July. Last month a 1913 Liberty Nickel was sold through Heritage Auctions for $3.7 million (source:News-Antique.com ). The Man of Steel and the Dark Knight have a long way to go before they can top that. In the mean time, I say we sit back, flip through our long boxes, and read some comic books. You can’t put a price on the enjoyment the stories can bring.
(Please note that saying the enjoyment is priceless will not get your local comic shop to give you your pulls for free.)

You got that last part dead-on slick.
